If it weren't for lunch breaks, I'd have no productivity to speak of. But thanks to that sweet, sweet half hour dedicated to eating and filling journal pages, I now have 53 handwritten pages of story notes and 1.5 scenes. For a short story. That I've been working on for a month. :faint:

But at least I'm trying! I have goals for this year. Not resolutions per say, but I've finally come to the conclusion that working 40 hours a week and binge watching Netflix all weekend is not how I want to spend my life. I'm both too old and too young for that at the same time. I want to make something of my creativity, take risks, learn new skills, and try new things.

Here's a list of new things I'd like to attempt soon:

  • Finish a short(ish) story for once, damn it!
  • Finally start working consistently on a novel
  • Co-write or collaborate on a writing project with someone
  • Learn how to write screenplays and graphic novel scripts
  • Write a screenplay and graphic novel (oh yeah, I have ideas)
  • Work with an artist to create illustrations and/or graphic novel
  • Work on a video game concept or multiple-outcome story concept (no ideas for that, but it's a skill I'd like to develop)
  • Work with an editor
  • Provide more story coaching with the possibility of getting paid for it or trading it for editing/art

And probably some other things I haven't thought of yet. Anyhow, I've never really collaborated before, and I'd like to give it a try. I think it would be a good learning experience and definitely help me stay productive and challenge me to try new things and think differently about the creative process.

If you're interested in working with me on any of these things or know someone who might be, let me know!

How about you? What are your creative goals for the near future?
